Gaddafi didn't come here much; his last visit was about 11 years ago. The house had an elevator shaft that went down about 1/2 km to a tunnel where golf carts awaited to drive him about 15 km to the outskirts of town, just in case. No doubt he has a similar arrangement somewhere in Western Libya, where he is probably hiding.
