15 May 1980 Cheops

In May 1980 I took Pan Am up on the first "Frequent Flyer" program they started in April 1980. For $2222.00 you get a Passport 30 ticket allowing you to book as many of their flights as you could in 30 days; Clipper Class. Pan Am 001 flew West around the world every day so I started in Washington DC and went with them to 20 countries on 6 Continents, for 66,000 miles. The photos posted here from 1980 were all from that 30-day trip. I wrote a short story about for their magazine, too. I still remember most of the details of this first World Tour and I have traveled around the world more than 40 times since then.
