In the Niger, not far from Niamey, lives a group of 320 free roaming wild animals. They are the last giraffes in West Africa. Giraffes usually inhabit savannas and eat acacia leaves, which their long tongues find among the sharp thorns of the trees. The giraffe is considered the largest ruminant and the tallest animal on Earth.
