I have sought, through these images, to capture the day-to-day life in Niamey. An ever present element is the Niger River, around which the life of the population thrives. On its shores and before my eyes, the paths of launderers, fishermen, carriers and of a myriad of women and children cross, always under the watchful gaze of the hippos, the most important inhabitants of this river.
