Discovered by the Portuguese, colonized by the Dutch and the French until its Independence in 1968, Mauritius is a small and prosperous country in the Indian Ocean. Usually associated to idyllic beaches with golden sand, palm trees and warm waters, these images show the quiet daily life of the people in the Northern Mauritius and on the Rodrigues Island.
