By interpolating and crossing images I have tried to establish a parallel between the relaxed movement of the city of Cotonou and the peacefulness of the lake-dwellers of Ganvie. With a mostly young population, a variety of religions and a profusion of ethnic groups, Benin is yet another country on the western coast of Africa marked by slavery and colonization, which influences are still noticeable in their habits, customs and rituals.
