I'll be visiting Zanzibar for a couple of days off of a ship (Azamara) and have been trying to do an e-visa on the Tanzania e-visa website but things aren't going through. From all the research I've done there seems to be a way of getting a visa upon arrival in Zanzibar at the airport but I can't find anything that clarifies that I can get one at the port. Can I get one at the port and if I can do you know how long it will take? Thanks in advance for any information. Laura Lorman

You will also need to purchase mandatory Zanzibar Heath Insurance too. That's on-line also.
If you are a US Citizen; then you can get the visa on arrival. Even during COVID-19 in 2021; I got to go to Tanzania and was able to apply visa on arrival. Pretty cool!
Fortunately; I was able to go even when I lacked the COVId-19 test in last minute the day before my flight
