We want to go to Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus either before or after a Russian river cruise. What would be the best way to do this? Are there any political or safety issues we need to plan for? If we go to the Ukraine, should we avoid flying back to Russia to come back to the US?Currently the plan is to fly to St. Petersburg from the US, go on the cruise, and back to US from Moscow. Looking at the same type of trips and found: MIR, $7195, expensive; Responsible Travel, same company as Native Eye Tours, 2635 UK pounds; Flo Tours, $5995; Adventures Abroad, $4650; and Original World, $4590, which has a pre-tour option for Russia. Just have to assess what you want included. Some of the less expensive tours do not include all meals. Safe travels. Don Tomajan.
