Riau Islands

A question for all you experts out there:  If one were to visit the Riau Islands, what would that visit count as?  It's an island group province of Indonesia with a population of over over 2 million so it seems to me that, by TCC rules, it should count separately.  If not, what does it count as?  It's very near Sumatra but not part of it.  The TCC list lists "Indonesia (Java)" and it's not part of Java either.  Thoughts?

  • Douglas Harwood is correct - TCC includes Riau Archipelago as part of the Sumatra region.  After visiting there last year I confirmed this with Chris Hudson the keeper of the list.

  • Indonesia considers the Riau Islands as part of the Sumatra region. That's how I classified my visit for TCC purposes
