Point of Information

In 2012 a new province was created in Indonesia known as "North Kalimantan" it's Capitol is called "Tanjung Selor" which was split off from East Kalimantan province
just as the Northwest territories in Canada gave up some of its borders to create the new province of "Nunavut" with its own Capitol

TCC doesn't reflect and show the new province listed and has only the old time name still standing!

Furthermore there are still other new entites..

Irian Jaya doesn't exist any longer that name was dropped in 2002 and replaced with the name "Papua"
In 2007  the province was split to create "West Paupa" and its Capitol is "Manokwari"

Since TCC has listed all the Indonesian provinces as a separated destinations to achieve the list is now antiquated and obsolte it is  contradictory to the true current titles and this should be addressed at a committee meeting!

    Hi Elliot,

The question of why Newfoundland isn't on our TCC list comes up frequently. If I may suggest, please go back on the TCC website, go to the "Countries and Territories" tab, and click on "Territory Status." Not only will you find the criteria and guidelines the board uses to determine what goes on our list, but at the end is an explanation about why we don't include Newfoundland. A careful reading of our rules should answer most questions. You can also find a printed copy in the TCC membership directory.

Any questions or comments about or for the TCC office or board members would be best served by e-mailing the office directly where it will be brought to the board's attention at our quarterly board meetings. That way the forum can be kept free for the exchange of ideas and friendships.

The country and territory list of the TCC is but one of many "country" lists out there, although our ever-evolving list has been around for over 60 years. If it's not on our list, you can still go there! Personally, I have my own list that gives me the ultimate satisfaction. Our planet is a fantastic place, don't you think?

  •  I have another point of infornmation I still do not get the explanation that Newfoundland shouldn't be listed as a seperate identity, the last time I looked at a map there was no bridge linking it to the mainland with Labador!

Newfounfdland was a seperate country with its only stamps and coins , read the history on that place.

Prince Edward island in my opinion doesnt deserve a place on the TCC list of destnations to achieve!

I also nominate the island of Socotra to be added to our Club's list

  • They just ignore anything that they can't bother to answer just like years ago with South Georgia as another TCC member also indicated

Do you think there is a problem at the TCC headquaters? not very helpful or courteous in responding to any questions!

who reads these comments Klaus? his Couisn, a secertary I wonder just who ?
