Northern Pakistan

I have arranged a private trip to northern Pakistan through a tiny British and Pakistani based company that I have used before. The trip will run 15 July-5 August and leave from Islamabad going as far north as Shimshal and then back down through the Swat Valley to Lahore. My visa was issued within 2 days through the Pakistani on-line visa system. I am very happy to share this trip with 1-2 others if there are any who would like to join. We will be traveling in old jeeps which work well on the challenging roads and accompanied by a local English speaking guide.

  • Hi JoAnn, It was cancelled at the last minute when Oman Air was prohibited from flying into Pakistan along with most other airlines. I think it was a way of controlling entry to help with Covid control. I could not get another flight in spite of days of trying because everything was booked out and airlines like Oman were taking no reservations because they didn't know when the ban would be lifted. The trip is postponed until next summer. I visited the region in 2019 but missed a few places like the Swat Valley and it is so beautiful that I am happy to go again to the same places too. Jane

  • Hi Jane - Just wondering if you ended up going on this trip and, if so, how it went. Sounds great!
