Has anyone been there recently? I know the travel warnings but Lupine Travel will take a group of 3 and I am investigating. Any input would be helpful.

I haven't been there since the war, in 2011. It was easy to travel then because there were no police/immigration/customes... they killed every one they could find. The military was mostly conscripts and mercenaries from sub-Saharan Africa, and the MIG polite are eUkrainian or Russian, so they did what they could to get out. It was safe until, maybe six months after Gaddafi was killed. Since then, the tribes have been killing each other. I think Eastern Libya might be OK, but there have been repeated attacks in Tripoli, mostly about who controls the airport. That's about all I know. I never deal with travel agents. Never heard of Lupine. Y'all be careful out there!
Thank you. I have signed up with Lupine Travel and will go in October. They had 11 trips planned last year and went for 8 of them. They are very security conscious. The trips are short: 3 1/2 days and go to Tripoli and the various Roman ruins.

I’ve heard Spiekermann Travel has occasional tours, though personally I don’t have any travel experience with them.
