Dear members,
An announcement was emailed last Thursday to the registered attendees of Malta. With regret and disappointment, the Malta conference is postponed until May 5-8, 2022. Basically, too many variables could not be resolved by our March deadline and it made better sense to tell those committed to the event now, rather than a couple months in advance--they have the chance to change their travel plans. A similar announcement will appear in the December Centurian.
As disappointing as this is, we believe this event could sell out. On Saturday's Zoom call, with Michelle from Malta Tourism, over 70 members participated which includes several chapter coordinators. With Michelle's assistance, we will be partnering with Destination Malta who will help us put together an event that captures the best of the region. Ideas to help make this event better? Presentations will be capped at 20 minutes so we can have more of them, and they will be timed such that we can spend less time in a classroom and more time enjoying both the surroundings of Malta and the company of each other.
I hope this gets you excited to attend. For further information, the registration link is on our website at www.travelerscenturyclub.org or you may inquire at letsmeet@travelerscenturyclub.org.
Warmest regards,
Tim

Hi Mary Jo:
We stayed at Tunisia Palace, 13 Avenue De France, Tunis 1000, Tunisia for five days location is good, breakfast was good.
Hired a driver and visited Zaghouan Aqueduct, Carthage (site and old harbor), Bardo National Museum, Dougga, Thurburo Majus, El Jem Ampitheatre and Museum (House of Africa), Medina of Kairouan, Great Mosque of Kairouan, Mosque of the Three Doors, Aghlabid Basins, Medina of Sousse, Ribat of Sousse, Great Mosque of Sousse, Kasbah of Hammamet and the Medina of Hammamet over three days. Enjoyed all but highly recommend Bardo and El Jem
.
Unfortunately our driver's email is no longer valid, but you should be able to ask at your hotel for a recommendation.

Thank you Dave. Any information will be appreciated.
Hi Merry Jo: I'm waitlisted for the conference, but due to reach Malta by ship a few days before (May 2nd). Won't be visiting Tunisia this trip, but was there in 2019. Right now in Split, Croatia but can lookup details of the trip Teruko and I took when we get to Venice after 11/9. We hired a driver. Dave
I would be interested on Tunisia information if anyone has something to share.
Did anyone ever pursue Tunisia, Libya or Algeria side trips. I recall some talk of setting up something like that before or after the meeting?
Indeed, it is the Malta Marriott. Further, we have a link for you to book directly with the hotel:

Looking forward to meeting you in Malta!
Tim
Thanks
Marcia, the info I received with The Centurian for March 2021 lists the Malta Marriott in St. Julian's Bay, May 5-8, 2022.
