I'm almost down to 2 provinces in Canada!

I'm almost done with finishing up Canada Travel Map. I have visited all the provinces and territories but Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island.

I do plan to go to Edmonton Thanksgiving Break 2025 as well as go to Newfoundland Thanksgiving Break as well.

I also am going to Prince Edward Island along with NHL Hockey Games in Edmonton, Calgary, Raleigh, NC; and Columbus; Ohio in Spring Break 2026

What are your recommendations as I'm almost done with Canada Travel Map? Thanks

  • I'm going to Toronto Maple Leafs NHL Hockey game in Toronto Feburary 27th, 2026 Weekend

Winnipeg Jets Hockey NHL Game in April 10th, 2026 Weekend in Winnipeg, Canada! Exciting! Been there one and now doing it twice!

I've gone to all the games in Canada: Vancouver Whitecaps; Edmonton Oilers; Winnipeg Jets, Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens

  • I'm just ready to see the last province of Canada: Prince Edward in 5 weeks!

  • Oh wow...how miraculous. That's cool that I get to do all that at least. But I'm really sorry that your tours were cancelled because the dogs could potentially get hyperthormia.

At first I was like, "Oh oh..but now I get it!" It would be nice if all the layovers weren't so long in order to get to your next destination. A lot of times when you fly internationally; you would literally have to stop sometimes or more than often or not; in Toronto. That is Toronto is a International Major Hub destination in order to get to any destination in the world.

Often times; when I fly back home from Europe or anywhere in the world; I would have to have a layover in Madrid, Spain in order to get to Toronto nor anywhere in the US. If you live and travel back to US; you will likely have a layover in US. Same with Canada.

Wow...Yellowknife is year round cold when I was in Yellowknife last Summer 2025. In fact, the hotels were $200 a night. And I was like wow.....I didn't go beyond the capital of Northwest Territories because I was just literally crossing off my list of provinces to visit which I visited Winnipeg in Manitoba and Regina, Saskatchewan.

I pretty much visited all provinces and territories but Nunuvut. Nunuvut would be something I'm visiting December 2026 but exciting to see how things are going to play out! I would need to fly to Ottawa via to get to Nunuvut (Iquialit) on Canadian North. $534 one way at least.

    Pretty exciting to do that.

Cool your friend met Wayne Gretsky. I highly recommend it. The best experiences I really enjoyed watching NHL Game is Montreal Canadiens. THey have the best Stadium Bars where you can get the best medium price of Chicken Tenders with Fries as well as Drinks. And I believe you can get discount when you buy things in Canadian Currency. Plus the game atmostphere is the best. Ottawa Senators Game was great but not as suspenseful as Montreal Canadiens.

Edmonton Oilers game was great but very expensive. Atmosphere is the best though. Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators games are your best bet for Travel Budget; etc.

  • Actually, I think that I did not explain things properly about direct flights from Edmonton. I did not have to fly overseas to fly to a different city in Edmonton. i had to have a layover in Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver in order to fly to almost cities outside of Canada. There were direct flights back then from Edmontonto Las Vegas, London, as well as to most cities in Canada. But if I was going to most US or Eurooean cities, I woukd have to have a layover in Vancouver, Montreal, or Vancouver. Even today, Edmonton as well as many cities in Atlantic Canada are still quite isolated. To get to the USA or Europe, you usually need to have a layiver in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver or Calgary.

It was really cold for most of my time in Yellowknife - most of the time it was -35C, with a windchill of -44. I had booked a dogsledding tour one day, but it was cancelled one day because it was too cold for the dogs. They were afraid that the dogs would get hyperthermia, so they cancelled the tour. But on the last couple of days, it warmed uo to -22C with very little wind, so I could spend a lot more time outside before getting cold. When it was -35C plus windchill, I limited my time to about 30 minutes outside at a time, wearing multiple layers so I woukdnt get too cold.

I have booked a tour of the Yukon for this June, so that will leave me just New Brunswick to visit.

I actually have never seen a NHL game live, eventhough my father was a sportswriter for the Edmonton Journal and was a friend of Wayne Gretzky
  • And I finished my Newfoundland and Labrador Province! Next month; I'm off to Prince Edward Island-last one!

  • You have not gone to my favourite province yet -Newfoundland and Labrador. I went on an Adventure Canada circumnavigation Expedition  cruise and loved it. Adventure Canada is a family owned business and members of their family are on each voyage as Expedition staff.  A lot of their other Expedition staff are from Newfoundland and Labrador. We had a Kitchen Party (a Newfoundland tradition)  almost every night. The CEOs husband and father-in-law  are Inuit, so we were able to visit First Nations communities because of their connections. I loved that cruise so much I went on 6 other of their cruises to Scotland, Iceland, Labrador, the Maritime provinces (except New Brunswick) and Baffin Island.

The one disappointment I had was that we did not go to the House of Green Gables in Charlottetown. But I have since heard that the Anne of Green Gables House is over-rated and it is better to take a private Lucy Maud Montgomery tour, which goes to all the places in PEI  where Lucy wrote the Anne series.

I spent my first 26 years in Edmonton, and Edmonton is my least favourite city in the world. LoL I found it isolated. At that time there were no direct flights anywhere. I had to fly to Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver to get a overseas flight. I now live in Toronto.

YI have 1 province(New Brunswick) and 2 Territories *Yukon and North-West Territiries" left. I am going to a lodge at Blanchord Laje near Yellowknife this Christmas. So that will leave me Yukon and New Brunswick to do. What did you do in New Brunswick. I am interested in seeing the Reversing Falls at the Bay of Fundy, but dont know what else is worth seeing to warrant spending the time of money to go there.
