Flight to Caracas Cancelled..

Hi, all.

Didn't expect this to be my first post here, but I didn't know where else to turn to.

I am in Bogota right now, I had a flight to Caracas which was to depart this morning.

However, when I arrived to the airport, LATAM employees informed me flight was cancelled, due to Maduro closing the airways and borders to/from Colombia.

Flight cancellation itself would be ok.. only if I don't have tour booked to see angel falls, which leaves in 2 days, and if I miss that, there is no flight there for 5 days or so. Basically I could possibly lose a lot of money (for me anyway) and at the same time not get to Venezuela at all.

They say airport will open by 13th, or 14th of January.. but I don't know how much trust I should put into that. I decided to stay at a hostel in Bogota and wait it out, but not sure what will happen, nor what I should do. I did find a flight from Madrid that go to Caracas, but to go to Madrid from Bogota and then Caracas, would cost me $2000 or more so it doesn't seem a viable option for my bank account.

If any of you have any wisdom or advice for the situation I'm in, I'd gladly take in. Otherwise, just another 'memorable' experience for me traveling the world I guess. You gotta find a silver lining somewhere. lol.

Who knew my flight's arrival date was the inauguration date of 'new' president? Such is life, I guess.
