Afghanistan and Pakistan

I want to travel to both Afghanistan and Pakistan summer 2016 (between May and October).  I do understand that there are some security concerns.  Can anyone recommend a reasonable price tour to either or both countries?

    I've traveled with them to Afghanistan on August 2014. Good for traveling to the central Afghanistan and for other part I prefer to travel alone.

    We only stayed 2 nights in Afghanistan as the security situation is worse in Afghanistan.  We stayed at the 5 star Serena Hotel in central Kabul where security was very tight.   The Serena Hotel has drivers which you can hire to take you around the city.  We meet up with several young men who we initially met on couchsurfing.  They took us around the city and on foot. The famous Chicken Street was only a 10 minutes WALK from the Serena Hotel so we walked there with one of our new friends.

    In Pakistan I used the Karakorum Adventure company.  There were 2 of us and a 14 day planned program with car, fuel, driver, guide, hotels (3 star) and meals was $3200 for 2 people.  This is a local Pakistan company and they will guide design a tour for you.  They have a web site or you can contact Najam Hassan at najam@karakonrumadventures.com.  His father runs the tour company.

    I was in Kabul last year IU stayed at the  Aga Khans the hotel its the best in town! they provided a tour with a private car i went to chicken st  great shopping flower st and butcher st I went to the edge of town and saw the cidatel a must  , i was taken way outsid eof town to a lake it was a nice day ! the food id very good in the country! getting out of airport is a long walk to the parking lot whee your arranged driver will pick you up!  I couldnt get a visa in time for Pakistan!

    I was told that the ONLY way I can get a VISA (as an American) for either country is if I travel with a tour company.  I normally travel independently but use a tour company when it is required for me to get a visa.

    I haven´t because I dont like to travel organised. But I know from people that they are pretty good!
